I have often told my employees over the years that death is in the detail.
What I mean by this is that every problem should be solved at the highest level possible.
It is so easy to waste time and energy solving the wrong problem or dealing with a symptom rather than a cause.
The key is to ask the right questions to identify the real underlying problem.
Indeed, the right questions are generally more important than knowing all the answers.
The right questions (combined with good listening skills) demonstrate a care factor and no one indeed cares how much you know until they know how much you care.
